  • Hi, I'm Liz Fox, Founder and Executive Director of ASAP. The fuzzy gal is my 13-year-old "Baby." Baby was brought to ASAP in February 2004 around Valentine's Day. She was brought in by a neighbor who realized that she had been abandoned by her owner. Baby is so sweet, it's hard to believe anyone can abandon her. There are so many other loving dogs and cats that end up in similar situations. Please help me and other volunteers find homes for these wonderful creatures.

       Tips and tricks

What better way to say I love you than sharing your home with a furry, four-legged friend, especially starting on Valentine's Day?! Each year thousands of abandoned cats and dogs are euthanized when a permanent home cannot be found. Our shelters are overflowing with loving pets that no longer have someone willing to care for them. When you provide a temporary or permanent home to an abandoned cat or dog you are sharing true love, whether you share it with your sweetheart, your family or yourself -- on any day of the year.
If you've ever considered becoming a pet owner, now is your chance to adopt one of the thousands of abandoned cats or dogs being rescued from county and city shelters on a daily basis. These animals are looking for permanent homes throughout southern California and beyond. When you decide to be a foster parent for a cat or a dog, you can chose to play Mom and Dad for only a short period of time while deciding whether full-time pet ownership is right for you. Your interval ownership ensures that the loving pet you decide on is saved from an uncertain life or even death. Please act now and fill out our application to become a foster parent. You will be glad you did.   Foster Home Application
